Napoli said they have yet to receive an offer for an on-loan striker, Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian striker has been a huge player for the Turkish giants as he contributes goals and assists since completing his loan move from the Serie A club on deadline day.
This was revealed by Napoli director Giovanni Manna who insisted that no one has communicated with the club about activating Osimhen’s release clause in January. This means he remains on loan with Galatasaray.
The stock of the former Lille striker keeps rising after another performance on Sunday as he rescued his team to a 3-2 in the league action over Sivasspor at the Yeni 4 Eylul Stadyumu.
Osimhen, who has been in brilliant form for the Lions since he joined, ensured they left with maximum points in a match they started on top from the blast of the whistle despite being reduced to ten men within 15 minutes.
Osimhen gave Galatasaray a 2-1 lead late in the first half via penalty, and they made the result safe with the third through Baris Alper Yilmaz in the 53rd minute before the host reduced the deficit late in the game.
Since joining Galatasaray, he has scored 10 goals in 14 games with 4 assists.
Napoli will return to the top of the Serie A table with a victory against SS Lazio. Pressure is on them because Atalanta has registered nine consecutive Serie A victories.
Reports emerged over the last few days that Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester United want to activate the €75m release clause and buy Osimhen in January, which could interrupt his loan spell with Galatasaray. This would bring fresh funds for Napoli.
“I already said many times, that nobody has talked to us. Victor is owned by Napoli and currently playing for Galatasaray. I think too much has been said about this, nothing is happening.
“We made a lot of investments over the summer, if it should be needed, we would be ready to make more. We are concentrated on our campaign. If there is an opportunity to improve the squad, then we will take it, but that is not our priority right now.”
