The latest reports from France says Nigerian winger Moses Simon is set to complete a move to OGC Nice.
Simon has been a target of several Premier League sides. Leeds United looked determined to get him, but the winger seemed to want a Ligue 1 stay where he has had a fantastic season.
According to reports, the Premier League target has reached an agreement with the Ligue 1 club.
The remaining part will now be with his club, that have said they won’t stop him from leaving provided they receive a convincing offer.
The 26-year-old is expected to leave year’s Coupe de France winners, having been given the green light.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Nantes president Waldemar Kita revealed that the attacker was among a group of players who would be allowed to leave.
Although the club would have been delighted if he stayed, they can’t stop him from aiming higher.
Moses is currently tied to Nantes till 2024, but the club will gladly let him leave for an interesting fee.
Meanwhile, this move is not all completed as there could be a power struggle between Moses and Nantes.
The club had earlier rejected a €10m offer from NICE f. So, Nice are expected to return with an improved offer.
The winger made 30 Ligue 1 appearances for the club last season and over 50 international appearances for Nigeria.
This is expected to be a defining moment for Moses, who was an important player to Nantes.
The club will want more for arguably one of their best players last season.
Thus, Nice is expected to return with an improved offer that could have some interesting clauses that may be hard to down.
Having a power struggle in the football business, especially transfer, is normal. Both sides are expected to later come to an agreement and move on ahead of the new season, which is almost here.
