Celtic skipper Callum McGregor has revealed he plans to continue his stay at Celtic as he isn’t thinking of putting a stop to his career.
The 29-year-old recently commemorated his 400th appearance for the club in a win over Dundee United on Sunday.
The midfielder came through the Academy at Parkhead, which followed through with a loan to Notts County.
However, McGregor acknowledged that he could never have thought he would reach the milestone of 400 appearances for the Celts.
Now it seems as though [Callum] McGregor will follow the footsteps of ex-Celtic legend Scott Brown who, during his time at the club, made a record of 672 appearances and will no doubt be a perfect role model for McGregor if he extends his stay in years to come.
McGregor gave his thoughts in an exclusive interview when asked about reaching his goal milestone.
“It will be a wonderful accomplishment if I attain a such height in my career. But you know, you have to take each game as it comes to building this target gradually.
“This can come through as long I remain healthy, fit, and focused in every game.” He added.
His performances and commitment have not gone unnoticed by manager Ange Postecoglou as well, with the 57-year-old praising the Scotland international for his hard work and dedication.
Speaking after the win at the weekend, Postecoglou reserved some mentions for his skipper, describing him as a great leader with a great impact.
In terms of personnel, likewise, Celtic has been on top of their game, adding decent additions to help bolster their squad and push title ambitions way higher.
Celtic will look to build on their impressive performances when they welcome Livingston to Celtic Park as they sit pretty well on the SPFL log with 64 points, nine points adrift second placed rivals Rangers.
