Matteo Guendouzi is quite unpopular with his teammates. The 22-year-old French midfielder is known for having a solid temper and speaking his mind without a filter.
His little ability to control his emotions led him to have problems at Arsenal and is why Mikel Arteta left him out of his plans.
The player is on loan at Marseille, where he has had some flashes of good performance. But his attitude has affected his teammates.
According to OM Talk Show, Guendouzi often blames his teammates when there are problems and makes constant complaints in training when someone makes a bad pass or touch.
During matches, Guendouzi also had clashes with his teammates. The most recent was with Brazilian midfielder Gerson.
Guendouzi confronted Gerson for his little effort to defend during the Marseille vs. the Lens match.
Marseille boss Jorge Sampaoli has not commented on the situation, and it seems that he is willing to tolerate Guendouzi’s attitude for the time being. However, the player is not very popular in the locker room, which could cause problems in the short term.
Since Mikel Arteta left him out of Arsenal, Matteo Guendouzi has not been able to find stability in a club. During the 2020/21 season, he was on loan at Herta Berlin. The Gunners expected the German club to apply a player buyout clause. However, Herta preferred to pass.
At the end of his loan spell in Germany, Guendouzi returned to London, where the Gunners tried by all means to sell the player. In the end, they were unable to make a final transfer and had to settle for loaning it to Marseille.
