Manchester United continued their impressive run in all competitions as they beat Manchester City by 2-0 in the English Premier League.
They continued their unbeaten and extend it to 10 games and thus managed to complete the double over their city rivals managed by Pep Guardiola.
In those 10 games, Ole Gunnar Solskajer men have won 6 matches and drew 4 including Sunday’s 2-0 win against City, which is the third win in four appearances between the two sides this season.
The Red Devils took the lead in the 30th minute through French forward Anthony Martial from a Bruno Fernandes assist.
He thus becomes the first Manchester United player to score in both legs of the Manchester Derby in an English Premier League game since Cristiano Ronaldo 2006/2007.
It was a bad game for City’s Brazilian goalkeeper, Ederson, who was largely at fault for both goals, including Scot McTominay’s late second.
The win puts Liverpool’s title win even close as they now have a 25-point gap over the Citizens, and the Jurgen Klopp’s led team can win their first-ever league title in 30 years if they win just two games more.
Meanwhile, Argentina striker Sergio Aguero had a goal chalked off for offside after consultation of the Video Assistant Referee.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskajer as quoted on BBC to has said it is a privilege to manage the current team.
“It’s a privilege to be their manager, and they give absolutely everything. They know they are all good players, but they want to learn as well.” Solskajer said.
Manchester United are now 5th on the log, which may be enough to secure a UEFA Champions League spot should Manchester City’s ban by UEFA be upheld. They have 45 points from 29 games.
Manchester City are still in second with 57 points.
