Erik ten Hag, the coach of Ajax, has confirmed that the severity of Marcel Sabitzer’s injury is yet to be determined. Sabitzer was scheduled to play for Nottingham Forest in their match against Ajax, but had to leave the pitch early during the warm-up and headed straight to the tunnel, indicating that he may not be able to participate in the game. Christian Eriksen took his place in the starting team due to the injury.
Manchester United, who are facing an increasing injury crisis, have been keeping an eye on Sabitzer’s condition. Ten Hag provided an update on Sabitzer after Ajax’s comfortable 2-0 win. He said, “He had a problem in the warm-up. We didn’t take the risk because we already have some injuries, so we have to find out tomorrow. Hopefully it’s not a big injury. We chose not to go into the game with risk.”
Sabitzer’s injury assessment will take place at Carrington, and an update on the issue will be released in due course. As of now, Manchester United is facing injury concerns for Tom Heaton, Tyrell Malacia, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Scott McTominay, Donny Van de Beek, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Sabitzer.
However, Shaw and McTominay are expected to return to the matchday squad against Sevilla on Thursday. Manchester United will be hoping that Sabitzer’s injury isn’t serious and that he can return to the pitch soon to bolster their squad.
Sabitzer is a very important player for United. He has already played eight games for the Red Devils but he is yet ti score. Before arriving at the Old Trafford, Sabitzer had scored 97 club goals as well. He has also represented Austria in 69 games and has netted a total of 14 goals.
