Although weeks ago it was known that the Danish player Christian Eriksen had reached an agreement with Manchester United, it was not until a few days ago that the club officially presented it.
During the official presentation, Eriksen gave an interview in which he confessed that he thought that a long time ago, he had lost his chance to play for the Red Devils.
“Despite the fact that I had been linked with United in other summers, I had never considered playing in the United Kingdom again after what happened in the European Championship. I thought that my moment of being able to play for United had already passed, so being here is something I didn’t expect… but I’m very happy”, confessed the Dane and added.
“First of all, football. I think the talks I had with the coach led me to see myself playing here. At the same time, this is a very big club, if not the biggest. Everyone knows them, and has a lot of history. It’s so nice to be a part of this. I didn’t come here just for the shield, but because I want to play ball too. Obviously, I want to talk to the coach, listen to his ideas and talk about football. Things went very well, that’s why I made the decision to come to Manchester United”, he added enthusiastically.
The new Red Devils coach Erik Ten Hag played a fundamental role in bringing Eriksen to the club, as he believes that the player will adapt very well to the philosophy of the game.
“I have seen Erik’s work at Ajax, and I know his level of detail and preparation. He is a fantastic coach. After speaking with him and learning more about his vision and how he wants the team to play, I became even more excited about the future. I still have big ambitions, so this is the perfect place to continue my journey,” he added with conviction.
