Manchester United improved their top-four chances in the English Premier League following a 2-4 win over Leeds United on Sunday.
English defender, Harry Maguire, opened the scoring in the first half, silencing rumours about a likely dressing room clash between himself and Cristiano Ronaldo during the week.
Bruno Fernandez doubled the lead in first half stoppage time as the Reds capped a fantastic first half.
However, the lead evaporated within the first ten minutes of the second half as Leeds United scored two goals within a minute.
Spanish forward Rodrigo pulled one back in the 53rd minute before Raphinha levelled the scoreline a minute later.
However, Fred pulled a shot past Leeds goalkeeper in the 70th minute before Anthony Elanga sealed the victory two minutes before time.
The win puts United in fourth position with 46 points from 26 matches, four points behind third-placed Chelsea, and four more than fifth-placed West Ham United.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur defeated Manchester City 3-2 in a pulsating encounter at the Etihad stadium to throw the Premier League title race open.
Harry Kane scored twice in the game after January signing Dejan Kulusevski opened the scoring early. Ilkay Gundogan equalised in the 33rd minute after Hugo Loris failed to gather a shot in the box.
Harry Kane scored his first goal on the hour mark and also had another chalked off by the VAR midway in the second half.
Mahrez thought he had secured a point for Pep Guardiola’s side when e rolled home a penalty right on the dot of ninety minutes, but Dejan Kulusevski stepped up to provide an inch-perfect cross for Harry Kane to nod in stoppage time and win it for Antonio Conte’s side.
The win means that City’s lead on the table is now cut to six points as Liverpool’s 3-1 win against Norwich on Saturday comes in handy especially as the Red have a game in hand.
