After close to a decade at Manchester City, Belgium midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has stated that he is open to moving to Saudi Arabia at the end of his current contract with the Premier League champions, Manchester City.
Kevin De Bruyne joined Manchester City from Bundesliga side VFL Wolfsburg in 2015 and has gone on to make around 257 appearances, scoring around 68 goals for the league champions. He has also won a plethora of trophies for Manchester City, including six Premier League titles, 1 UEFA Champions League, and two FA cups, among others.
The 32-year-old joined Manchester City in a 55 million stealing 2014 and spoke about how it is important to consider his family but also very crucial that he makes more money before he calls it quits with football.
“Saudi? At my age, you have to be open to everything. You’re talking about incredible amounts of money in the last stage of my career; you have to think about that. I have to think about my future. If I play in Saudi for two years, I’ll be able to earn an incredible amount. Before that, I had to play football for 15 years, and I may not even reach that amount yet. You have to think about what that could mean next”, De Bruyne said.
De Bruyne is preparing for Euros 2024 in Germany this summer with the Belgian national team which he will captain, although he missed five months of last season because of an injury although he still managed to play 26 years in all competition for the citizens.
