Valencia Winger Ferran Torres has joined English Premier League side Manchester City on a five-year contract for 23m euros (£20.87m).
The Spaniard, who is Pep Guardiola’s first signing this summer, is a replacement for German winger Leroy Sane who joined Bundesliga side Bayern Munich earlier in July.
The 20-year-old player expressed his delight at joining the former English Premier League champions from the Spanish side.
“Every player wants to be involved in attacking teams and Manchester City are one of the most attacking in world football, I am so happy to be joining City.” Torres was quoted on BBC.
Torres had offers from Juventus, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
Ferran Torres, in 3 years, played 71 games for Valencia between 2017 and 2020, scoring just six goals for the Valencia side. He has also featured for Spanish youth teams including the under-17, under-19, and Under-21.
Earlier, Manchester City had a bid in the region £40m bid for Nathan Ake accepted by Bournemouth.
Meanwhile, Fulham returned to the English Premier League after they won Tuesday’s Championship Playoff game against Brentford 2-1.
The match, which is dubbed the most expensive match in the world as the Cottagers led by Scott Parker, will earn 135 million Pounds for their win and promotion.
Fulham got relegated last season after appointing Scott Parker to take over from Claudio Ranieri, who was sacked before the end of the season.
After a goalless 90 minutes, Fulham took the lead from a spectacular Joe Bryan Free-kick from long distance in the first half of extra time.
He added another with three minutes left of extra time to be played to ensure Fulham’s victory, although Henrik Dalsgaard got a late goal for Brentford, but it wasn’t enough.
