Real Madrid on Saturday recorded an emphatic victory against Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in the Spanish La Liga after a 3-1 final score.
On a night that Zidane’s men equalled Barcelona’s points gathered so far on the top of the La Liga standings, it was Gareth Bale who took the most of the attraction after his controversial gesture during the international break.
The Wales forward was seen with a Welsh flag that read “Wales. Golf. Real Madrid” in that manner in Wales 2-0 over Hungary as they qualified for the 2020 Euros.
However, as his name was announced before the start of the game, the fans at the stadium booed the striker as well as during his introduction in the second half of the game.
Real Sociedad got to a flying start as early as the second minute through William Jose’s Strike before French Striker Karim Benzema equalized.
Croatian Midfielder Luka Modric and Federico Valverde then scored in the second half to seal the win.
The game was Bale’s first appearance since October 5 for the Los Blancos, and his introduction in the 67th minute was met with boos and jeers.
It is part of a series of actions that show the strikers insistence that he feels more excited playing for the Country more than the club.
After a series of criticism from the Spanish media coach of the side, Zinedine Zidane declined to speak on the incident.
Apparently, fans seemed to have been won over by Bale’s display in the game after being involved in the build-up to the third goal by Modric as well as his overall work rate, which was well applauded by the fans.
Real Madrid have had a lacklustre start to the La Liga season, even coach Zinedine Zidane is under pressure at the club.
Madrid sits second on the log behind Barcelona just on goal difference after both teams recorded 28 points after 13 rounds of games in the La Liga.
Real Madrid are 1.45 to defeat CD Alaves in their next La Liga match, while Alaves are backed 7.29.
