Lille president Gerard Lopez has countered the claim of Victor Osimhen’s agent, saying he has revealed multiple offers for the Nigerian striking sensation.
Osimhen, who joined Lille from Charleroi has been in hot scoring form after scoring 14 goals in the Ligue 1 and 18 goals in 38 games in his debut season. His agent had claimed that it was only the Pertonopei that wanted him 100 percent.
There have been links with Napoli, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Everton.
Speaking with Sportsmail, Lopez said there are multiple offers for Osimhen, adding that the club had turned down the offer presented by an English and one other La Liga outfit during the January transfer window.
While stating that there are wide arrays of offers already for him ahead of the summer transfer window, Lopez who wouldn’t want name the clubs who are bidding also revealed that three championships clubs are also included amongst those who wanted his signature.
Speaking on the 77 million pounds move of Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal, Lopez said the same is with the Nigerian talent, and he is not mincing words.
It was gathered that Napoli had reached an advanced stage of negotiation with Lille in the sales of Pepe last summer, but ended the deal due to the €78m price tag placed on him, which was eventually paid by Arsenal.
However, Ariyo Igbayilola, Osimhen’s agent had confidently said the only club that his interested in the striker is Napoli.
In an interview with The Cable in Nigeria, Igbayilola admitted that the final decision on what’s next for him depends on him.
He also confirmed that Newcastle and Tottenham made enquiries about him, but it’s just interest alone as there was no real sign of commitment from them.
While noting that with the rate of interest for him, his agent doubt if he will be a Lille player next season, adding that he needs a club where he will always play full games weekly; not where he will be kept on the bench.
There is also speculation that Lille could sell Osimhen to Napoli in a deal worth €40m plus Adam Ounas.
