Celtic coach Neil Lennon is adamant his side will not back down as they try to keep hold of Kieran Tierney this summer.
The Scotland international is wanted by Premier League giants Arsenal, but the Gunners are yet to have an offer accepted. Celtic are reportedly wanting £25million for the left-back, and Arsenal have had a number of bids rejected.
In the past, Celtic have seen the likes of Moussa Dembele and Virgil van Dijk leave the club before then being sold for huge transfer fees. Lennon says Celtic are not going to be forced into a sale, although he has refused to rule out a move.
He told reporters: “I don’t know what Arsenal’s financial state is, I know what ours is and we are quite comfortable. There has been a second bid, the bid has been rejected, and it’s as you were.
“Whether they come in again or not, I can’t answer that. He’s a great player and a great talent and at 22 he has already achieved a hell of a lot in his career and has so much more to give to the game.”
Tierney remains on the sidelines at present due to a double hernia and pelvic issue, but he is hoping to be fit for the start of the season. Celtic are still trying to qualify for the next round of the Champions League, and they will play Sarajevo on Wednesday.
Christopher Jullien is set to miss out while he will be joined on the sidelines by Mikey Johnston, Marian Shved and Vakoun Bayo.
