The January transfer session is in full swing, and there is so much activities going on the French Ligue. Here are the latest transfer updates from the French Ligue 1.
According to L’Équipe, Lille is set to send 28-year-old French central defender Adama Soumaoro on loan to Serie A club, Bologna with an option to buy.
The French media reports that the Ligue 1 outfit had sanctioned the move as they gave him the go-ahead to travel to Italy on Thursday to complete other necessary documentations. He is therefore set for a medical before signing a loan agreement with the Serie A side.
It was gathered that before being given the green light, there had been soured relationship recently between Soumaoro and Lille boss Christophe Galtier as they refused to speak with each other. With such happening over the last few days; this means the defender could have played his last game for the club.
Although the deal’s details are yet to be disclosed, he is expected to complete the deal if he passes the medical.
The rift had stemmed from the club stopping Soumaoro from leaving for Bologna last summer. The reason was that Lille Sporting Director, Luis Campos wanted to keep him as a fourth central defender for cover, as Les Dogues competed in Ligue 1 and the Europa League.
Since he has not been able to get enough playing time in the first half of the 2020/21 season with just two starts in all competitions, he will finally be linking up with the Serie A side.
Meanwhile, Marseille has also expressed interest in Wolves forward, Patrick Cutrone. They will be glad to sign him on an initial loan deal.
According to Gianluca di Marzio, the Ligue 1 club wants to have the 23-year-old Italian, who is currently on loan with Fiorentina. Cutrone has lacked playing time at Viola. This could make him cancel his contract with the Florence based club.
In another development, Nantes in fighting fellow Ligue 1 side Brest for the signature of Brazilian central midfielder Jean Lucas on loan from Lyon.
According to the report, they plan to propose a deal of loan without an option to buy until the end of the season.
Because Lucas shares an agent with Nantes defender Andrei Girotto, the 22-year-old could join Raymond Domenech’s side in the coming days.
