Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal has hailed his Barcelona side as the best team in the world following their 4-0 El Clasico triumph at Real Madrid over the weekend.
The win which came just three days after their 4-1 defeat of Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday, has now opened a six point gap at the summit ovee their arch rivals, and nine points ahead of third plaved Villarreal.
Lamine Yamal, who has been tremendous for the Blaugrana, believes the team is unconquerable and can defeat any team right now.
“We see ourselves as the best team in the world currently. They said we can only beat normal teams, but we’ve just defeated Real Madrid 4-0 at the Bernabeu. We have proven that we can defeat anyone,” the 17-year-old remarked.
Since the appointment of Hansi Flick in May, the German has been able to inculcate his identity and, ultimately, a winning culture on the team. Notably, the trio of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal have been quite instrumental for the German in terms of scoring goals.
There have been other revelations of young stars like Pau Cubarsi and Marc Casado who are also playing their best football under the tutelage of the former Bayern Munich manager.
The Spanish side has lost just two of their fourteen matches in all competitions this campaign, one of those coming after they were reduced to ten men against Monaco on the matchday two of the Champions League back in September.
Some of the noteworthy victories Barcelona have recorded in those fourteen matches include a 5-1 win against Sevilla, 5-1 victory at Villarreal, a 7-nil demolition of Real Valladolid and a 4-1 romp over Girona whom they lost twice against last season.
Their 4-0 win at the Bernabeau on Saturday brought to an end Real Madrid’s 42-match unbeaten run in the Spanish La Liga and another win is looking feasible when they welcome Espanyol to the Olympic Stadium on November 3.
