Real Madrid confirmed that Eder Militao was out injured after it was confirmed Thursday that the defender was experiencing discomfort in his left thigh.
Initially, the discomfort appeared minor, but it resurfaced during his side’s 1-0 loss at Lille on Wednesday night, prompting him to request a substitution as a precaution.
This news has thrown Militao’s chances of being featured in the La Liga champions’ air, considering his availability for Real Madrid’s upcoming match against Villarreal on Saturday.
In addition, Militao’s participation in Brazil’s international fixtures during the upcoming break is also in question because no official decision has been made.
The defender is expected to be tested in order to know the severity of the injury. These tests will provide a clearer picture of whether the defender will be fit for future matches or if he will need time for proper rehabilitation.
Meanwhile, the club has made known its intention to sign Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez in the months to come.
The 23-year-old left-back has become a household name in the Primera since his transition from the Bernabeu, and his exploits and progress have caught the eyes of Real Madrid.
According to TBR football, Real Madrid inserted a buyback clause in his deal when they sold him, and they will be able to sign the player for a fee of around £6.6 million in the summer of 2025.
It is believed that Real Madrid will decide on their pursuit of the player soon. It will be interesting to see if they wait around until the summer of 2025 to sign him on a bargain, considering that Premier League sides, notably Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool, have monitored the player as well, and it remains to be seen whether they decide to make a move for him when the transfer window reopens in January.
Gutierrez has a £29 million release clause in his contract, and any of the English clubs will have no problem luring the player whenever they feel like it.
