The fixtures for the 2021/20211 La Liga season have been released on Wednesday as the new season draws closer.
The new La Liga season which will kick off on August 15 will see defending Champions Atletico Madrid start the season at Celta Vigo while Real Madrid will travel to Alavws and Barcelona will welcome Real Sociedad.
Atletico Madrid emerged the champions of an unusual 2020/2021 season after beating Real Madrid to the title on the final day of the season with a single point.
Meanwhile, the El Clasico dates were also revealed with Barcelona set to host the first leg at the Camp Nou on the 15th of October.
The second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu will be played on 20 March 2022. The Madrid derby is also not left out with the first leg at Real Madrid’s home game will be on the 12th of December.
Wanda Metropolitano will hold the second leg on the 8th of May 2022.
Last season, Champions Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Sevilla secured UEFA Champions League spots while Villarreal secured a UEFA Champions League spot by winning the UEFA Europa League against Manchester United in Gdansk, Poland in May.
Real Betis and Real Sociedad will compete in the Europa League for next season based on their positions from last season.
Meanwhile, relegated teams Eibar, Real Valladolid and Huesca were replaced by promoted sides Espanyol, Mallorca, and Rayo Vallecano who defeated Girona in the final of the La Liga Segunda division playoffs.
