Indications have shown that AC Milan midfielder, Franck Kessié has agreed to join Barcelona.
The latest information from Italy said the Ivorian midfielder is on the verge of joining the La Liga giant as a free agent.
According to the latest reports, the details of the Ivorian midfielder’s contract at the Nou Camp show that he will be €6.5m annually at the Catalan club.
Kessié has decided not to extend his stay with AC Milan and will become a free agent in June as his current deal expires in June.
This makes him the third Milan player to leave San Siro at the end of his contract in the last year after Gigio Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu.
It was gathered that he changed his mind and decided against joining a Premier League club that was even ready to offer a higher salary, after a decisive call from Barcelona manager Xavi.
This will be a good coup for the Catalan giants, who have been struggling financially to buy players. They had welcome the likes of Sergio Aguero, who has retired from football over heart problems, Memphis Depay and Pierre-Emeric Aubameyang.
Multiple reports in Italy say the midfielder has accepted an offer similar to the one made by Milan a few months ago. The club had proposed a €6.5m-a-year contract to him but turned it down.
If this rumour becomes true, it could then be said that the Ivorian wanted to leave for a fresh challenge for Barcfa that is likely to compete for more trophies.
Having managed their budget effectively, Milan is doing well, topping the Serie A table.
Another factor believed to be the reason for his interest in Barcelona is probably the proposal for the player’s agent.
Corriere della Sera reports that Kessié’s representative George Atangana will earn up to €10m from his client’s move to Spain.
