Juan Mata is a free agent after finishing his contract with Manchester United.
The 34-year-old spent eight and a half seasons with the Red Devils, scoring 51 goals in 285 games and winning four titles.
Currently, the player has several offers on the table and analyzes his next move very well.
Mata has options to continue in the Premier League, where he has developed the best of his football. Raphinha’s departure to Barcelona opens the doors of Leeds wide for him. The sports director of the English club, Víctor Orta, is already negotiating with Mata’s father to finalize a possible transfer.
But that’s not his only option. The player is considering returning to LaLiga, although he is aware that he will have to wait for that since Betis is the team that has shown the most interest. But the same club has told him that they cannot strengthen the roster until they get rid of some players.
Betis must take care of the salary limit, and for this, they would have put the sale tag on William Carvalho, Lainez, and Guardado, who are rumored to be of interest to several MLS clubs.
Mata has made it clear to the clubs that have contacted him that he is willing to lower the amount he earned at United. For Mata, money is not a deal breaker, and he just wants to play in a competitive league, which is the priority at this point in his career.
