Real Madrid striker Joselu has revealed that he’s enjoying his second stint at Santiago Bernabeu since joining in the summer transfer window. The Spanish striker, who joined from Espanyol, seems to be getting adapted to live at the capital club, having scored in two consecutive games against Las Palmas and then Girona on Saturday.
The 33-year-old has added two assists to the four goals in La Liga this season, and the striker revealed that he’s very confident while making use of the opportunity that Carlo Ancelotti is giving him.
“I’m making the most of the minutes the coach gives me; I’m here to help because that’s what I came here for. The day-to-day is incredible; the teammates and everyone have welcomed me very well from the start, and that shows in the day-to-day and in the matches. With games like today’s, you come out much stronger.” Joselu said.
He said that Real Madrid has always been his club, where players have to fight to be at the club. He also reminisced on ten years ago when he broke through but couldn’t keep up with a star-studded Galacticos team.
Joselu went on to play abroad with teams in Germany and England, as well as La Liga with Alaves and then Espanyol, among others. Real Madrid secured a 3-0 win over high-flying Girona to move to the top of La Liga with a point ahead of Barcelona.
The Blaugrana were 1-0 winners against Sevilla on Friday, while Saturday’s results also saw Getafe and Villarreal draw goalless. Rayo Vallecano and Mallorca also drew 2-2, while Real Sociedad beat Bilbao 3-0.
Sunday’s La Liga results saw Atletico Madrid come from two goals down to beat Cadiz 3-2 at Wanda Metropolitan. Real Betis ran out 3-0 winners over Valencia, while Alaves lost at home to Osasuna 0-2 while. Almeria and Granada played a pulsating 3-3 draw.
