Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo was delighted after the club bounced back in style against Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Saturday. The visitors won by 3-0 after goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Cavani and Marcus Rashford. Ronaldo said it was an unbelievable performance from the team.
Ronaldo himself got the much-needed goal as he scored from the volley, which was provided by his Portugal teammate Bruno Fernandes. Subsequently, Ronaldo provided the assist for Cavani as the Red Devils took a 2-0 lead in the 64th minute.
Meanwhile, Manchester United was under the pump after they received a 5-0 drubbing from Liverpool last week. Since then a lot of football boffins have questioned Manchester United’s boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the team’s players for their lackluster performance. However, they were able to pull themselves by their bootstraps and were able to come up with a clinical show against Tottenham.
Speaking after the game, Ronaldo said, “We knew before the game that we had a tough week. We had results that we didn’t expect. We were a little bit under pressure, a little sad. But we knew that we would give a good answer today. We played good. We started the game very well.”
The Portuguese star feels it was an unbelievable performance from the team and they were able to come up with a collective show.
“Of course my job is to help the team with my experience, with goals, with assists. I did it today and I feel so pleased about that. But in terms of the team, it was an unbelievable performance in my opinion.”
It was a much-needed win for Manchester United and there was a lot of pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the team to deliver the results as they haven’t been at their best. United have now climbed to the fifth position in the standings with five wins from 10 matches.
