Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has lavished praise on his teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, revealing that the Portuguese is a joy to play with. Ronaldo has all the experience under his belt and he is known to get the best out of young players.
Rashford believes Ronaldo is an unbelievable player and he has been a consistent performer for both club and country. However, Ronaldo hasn’t received his opportunities in the ongoing season as Erik Ten Hag has kept him on the bench. Surprisingly, Ronaldo has started in only one match for the Red Devils.
Rashford added that the Manchester United players just need to keep supporting Ronaldo and the Portuguese will deliver for the team.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the match against Everton, Rashford said as quoted by Mirror, “Ronaldo is an unbelievable player – and he’s been an unbelievable player ever since I watched him as a youngster. It is a joy to play with him. We can keep building, and when he starts scoring goals, he won’t stop. We just have to try and keep putting the ball in positions when he’s in front of the goal.”
On the other hand, Manchester United faced a 6-3 drubbing at the hands of Manchester City and Rashford believes the team will need to pull up their socks against Everton.
“After a game like that, it doesn’t matter who you play or where you play, it is just important to win. But we will have to be a lot better on the ball and show a much higher intensity at Everton.”
He continued: “I think Everton have been playing well this season. It is going to be an intense game, but we should be ready for it. I have been there and won a few times, but I have also been there and come away disappointed. Hopefully, the weekend can be a good performance and a big win.”
Meanwhile, Ronaldo will be determined to prove his mettle and he will be looking to spend more time on the pitch.
