Italian Serie A club, Inter Milan, has said that issues involving the contracts of striker, Alexis Sanchez are yet to be resolved with his parent club, Manchester United.
The Chile international joined the Nerazzurri on a season loan deal alongside his former teammate, Ronmelu Lukaku, who left Old Trafford for 75 million Euros. Ashley Young later joined the club during the winter transfer window,
Since Inter has expressed interest in keeping Sanchez negotiations with Manchester United has reportedly reached an increased stage.
Due to the lockdown, Inter wants to tie Sanchez down to another loan deal, having spent most of the season on the treatment table.
The Red Devils have, however, taken a stance with both Inter and Roma’s Chris Smalling by not allowing them to stay beyond the Europa League Round of 16 ties. Inter and Roma are still in the Europa League, which there is a likelihood that both players might face their parent club as the UEFA laws permit them to play against any club.
Speaking with Sky Sport Italia, Inter director Beppe Marotta said the issues concern anomalies because it would affect their squad in the Europa League.
Marotta further said that the club is working towards keeping him till the end of their entire Europa League, which begins August.
Sanchez’s contract expectedly is to expire July 31. Due to the coronavirus break, UEFA had to restructure the European competitions and to come up after the league games were concluded.
It was also gathered that the Red Devils want Sanchez to take a huge pay cut before he extends that loan as they currently pay a large portion of his salary.
Speaking on the development, Inter coach Antonio Conte stated that United are frightened that they may be out on the Europa League if they meet Inter.
