Inter Milan have said they will appeal against Alessandro Bastoni’s two-match ban,
The FIGC, Italian league football governing body had suspended the defender for repeated insults towards an assistant referee on Saturday during the Milan derby.
The Serie champions also said they will accept Simone Inzaghi’s suspension.
Inzaghi, who was fined €15,000 had targeted the referee inside the dressing room at the end of the match.
Tuttomercatoweb reports that the Nerazzurri will try to reduce Bastoni’s ban as the defender was not sent off during the match.
But as things stand, the defender would miss the upcoming Serie A fixture against Napoli. This is also following an ankle injury.
The Italian defender had wondered on social media what had caused his suspension. According to him, he said “You were rubbish.” to one of the referee’s assistants:
It is unclear when the defender will be out of action following the injury against the Giallorossias Mourinho’s men prepare.
According to reports, Bastoni will get an appeal that could see the judge reduce his suspension on Friday. If that happened, he will still kiss the Napoli clash, as the team hopes he will be injury-free this season.
