Following the latest injury woes rocking the Celtic squad at the moment, there are indications that summer signing Sead Haksabanovic could get his second taste of action in the green and white shirt.
According to reports, some of Postecoglou’s men away on international duties have suffered injuries.
The first of such a few is Greek Striker Giorgos Giakoumakis, who has a knock causing some pains in his leg. The forward has been sent back to the club for scans to ascertain the level of injuries.
Further news reaching the club medics is the latest injury suffered by Dazien Maeda and Liel Abada. The duo are also being attended to after sustaining injuries while away for their respective countries.
With these latest developments, there are no certainties about when these players will regain full fitness. However, there could be slight hope for either of the injured duo to join the matchday squad on Sunday. If they both fail to make it, this could usher a chance for Sead Haksabanovic.
The winger can take hold of this opportunity to crawl his way into the Australian manager’s plans. His previous appearances have been coming in as a substitute to gain a few minutes, and so far, the Celtic fans have been impressed by what they saw.
Haksabanovic might just be that likely replacement that will fit and replace the injured forwards. His ability to take on defenders with blistering pace has made him a suitable addition to this Celtic side.
The game against Shakhtar Donestk in th2 Champions League, where he orchestrated Reo Hatate’s goal, shows the 23-year-old will serve as a good cover.
Should Abada and Maeda’s absence in the game against Motherwell this weekend, The Montenegro International will probably lead the Hoops to attack alongside Furuashi and Jota in a front three.
Celtic hope to return to winning ways in the SPFL on Sunday after their shocking defeat at St.Mirren last time out.
