Ibrahimovic is always a controversial figure, and he gives a lot to talk about in the world of football. The Swedish striker is never afraid to speak his mind, whether it’s about his opponents, the media, or even his own teammates. His brash personality has both earned him praise and criticism from the public, but there’s no denying that Ibrahimovic is one of the most interesting figures in the sport.
Recently the Swede, in an interview with Canal Plus, criticized Pep Guardiola, coach of Manchester City.
Ibra began by praising Haaland: “I like him a lot; he’s a very intelligent player, and he doesn’t do things that aren’t within his reach. He doesn’t go down to play the ball; he waits in front of the goal and scores. He reminds me of players like Inzaghi, Trezeguet, and Vieri. In fact, it’s a new version of all three.”
But in his comments, he criticized the coach of the sky blues, “If Guardiola can improve it? It depends on the ego he has. If he allows himself to be bigger than him or not. He did not allow me or the others,” said the player.
Since the time they both were in Barcelona, the relationship between them has not been good, and it seems that Ibra still has unfinished business with Guardiola.
During the interview, Ibra also took the opportunity to attack the French press, who had criticized the player when he praised Benzema a few years ago.
“Now that it’s the Ballon d’Or, what do the journalists say? During the World Cup in Russia, I said Benzema deserved to be in the national team, but the French journalists attacked me. They attacked me because France had won the World Cup; now that they have won the Ballon d’Or, I would like to know what they say.”
