Valencia manager Gennaro Gattuso has confirmed that they are going to sign former Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan left the Red Devils this season after the expiration of his contract and he is currently a free agent.
Many teams have been linked to the striker, including LA Liga team Real Sociedad. Gennaro Gattuso was full of praise for Edinson Cavani.
The Valencia manager said as quoted by Manchester United evening news, “Peter Lim is working a lot and I think that we are going to sign Cavani because Lim has a lot of belief in those chances at the moment.”
The Italian hailed the experienced forward, saying: “When you speak of Cavani, he is not a normal player, he has played at great clubs and at the top level for a long time. He is 35, but he has an incredible mentality, I am speaking about the technical part, not the money, that is not my problem and they are two different things.”
“The problem is that a lot of people talk during an operation and it cannot be closed in two minutes.”
Meanwhile, Edinson Cavani has had a glorious career. The veteran scored 200 goals while playing for PSG Siant-Germain whereas he netted 104 goals for Napoli.
He scored a total of 17 goals in his maiden season for Manchester United in 39 matches. However, the lanky player didn’t have the best of the previous season as he could only score two goals and provided one assist in 20 matches for the Red Devils.
On the other hand, Valencia has won one and lost one so far in the new season of the LA Liga. They started their campaign with a 1-0 win over Girona but lost to Athletic Bilbao by 1-0 in their second game.
