Former Manchester United player Micah Richards has picked Paris Saint-Germain over Erling Haaland, stating that he likes the way the Frenchman moves in the attack. Richards revealed Mbappe will be his first choice as he feels he has a better all-around game.
Kylian Mbappe scored for the Parisians in the 69th minute in the UEFA Champions League match against Israel’s club Maccabi Haifa to give a lead to his team. PSG went on to win by 3-1 after Messi, Mbappe and Neymar all scored.
On the other hand, Erling Haaland also scored for Manchester City FC on Wednesday against Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League and it led to the comparison between the two strikers, who are currently the best in the world. City won by 2-1 against Dortmund after Haaland scored in the 84th minute.
Richards said via the Daily Mail: “What we talking about? All-round game?”
“I would still take Mbappe. Because I love Mbappe, I love the way he moves.”
However, former Liverpool player and Sky Sports expert Jamie Carragher questioned Richards’ choice as he said, “So you don’t like Manchester City’s, Erling Haaland?”
Richards replied: “I didn’t say that. I just said I prefer Mbappe.”
Carragher added: “So, you’d rather Mbappe play Man City than Haaland?”
Richards concluded the passage by saying: “No, not in this system. Not in this system.”
“As a number nine, Haaland in Man City’s team I would prefer him, but all-round game, Mbappe.”
Haaland has scored 13 goals in nine appearances across competitions, while Mbappe has netted 10 in eight matches in the ongoing season for their respective clubs. Thus, both of them are playing at the top of their game and they will look to continue the good show.
