Former Brazilian striker Ronaldinho has showered praise on Manchester City midfielder, Kevin de Bruyne as he picked him as his favorite Belgian player. De Bruyne is well known for his accurate passing and assists and he has played a key role in the success of Manchester City in the last few years and also his national team.
Ronaldinho revealed he loves De Bruyne’s style of play as he ticks all the right boxes on the pitch.
Praising de Bruyne, Ronaldinho said (via Voetbul Nieuws): “(Kevin) De Bruyne is my favorite Red Devil. I love his style. Okay, he’s not a dribbler like Eden Hazard, but he has great technique.”
Ronaldinho added: “He is a great player.”
The midfielder has been able to hit the ground running for Manchester City as he has provided eight assists in the first 10 matches in the ongoing season. The 31-year-old had made his debut in 2010 for the national team.
Kevin has played 92 matches for Belgium, netting 25 goals but he is yet to win silverware with the national squad.
Meanwhile, Saelemaekers, De Ketelaere, and Origi play at AC Milan, for which the Brazilian had also played.
“Three Red Devils (Saelemaekers, De Ketelaere and Origi, ed.) play at AC Milan, my ex-club. That proves that there is a lot of quality in your selection.”
Ronaldinho also heaped praise on Belgium captain, Eden Hazard.
“Eden Hazard is the Belgian who most resembles me in the way he plays. I hope he gets back to his top level soon.”
On the other hand, Ronaldinho tipped Brazil and Spain as the two favorites for the FIFA World Cup.
He said as quoted by Daily Post, There are many who come strong. Spain, with the spirit of Luis, is one. Luis [Spain coach] was a phenomenon on and off the pitch, but I think Brazil is very good too.”
