Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville says he is mesmerised by the job Erik Ten Hag has done at Red Devils since taking over. The Dutchman has been able to get the best out of his players and he has definitely guided the team on the right track.
The 52-year-old has got the results for the team and he has done a fine job as a manager. Neville feels ETH has gotten the best out of the resources despite not having a potent team at his disposal. Manchester United is currently in fourth place in the standings with 38 points from 18 matches and has played one match less than the third-placed Newcastle United.
Manchester United stunned one and all as they defeated Manchester City by 2-1 on Saturday after Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford scored for the home team.
Gary Neville said on Gary Neville podcast, “I’m mesmerised by the job Ten Hag has done. If you’d have said to me four months ago this is where Man Utd will be, I’d have said no chance.
“I’d have said they’re finishing halfway down the table, the way they were. Coming off the back of last season, the start of this season, I thought they were absolutely nowhere near. I thought they overpaid for Antony, I thought they overpaid for Casemiro. It looked like the usual Man Utd panic.”
Manchester United look like a more confident unit and they have seve won matches on the bounce after the conclusion of the World Cup. The Red Devils have come up with collective efforts and the players are giving their best on the pitch for Erik Ten Hag.
However, the gaffer recently admitted they still have a lot to improve in the upcoming matches. Manchester United will take on table-toppers Arsenal on Sunday before facing Crystal Palace on Wednesday in the Premier League.
