Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has revealed how Erik Ten Hag is trying to get the best out of his players in the training sessions. Ten Hag is known to be a competitor and he has made it clear that giving up is not even the last option for Red Devils’ players.
Meanwhile, before joining hands with Manchester United, Erik Ten Hag led Ajax with great success during his four-and-half years stint. The Dutchman took his former team to six trophies, including three Eredivisie titles.
Manchester United had a horrible previous season and the club’s management will be hopeful that Ten Hag can help them turn the tables and replicate his Ajax success at Manchester United.
On the other hand, Jadon Sacho revealed that Erik Ten Hag will punish the forwards by ordering them to do five press-ups if they conceded a goal against the defence in practice sessions.
Jadon Sancho said while talking to Manchester Evening News, “He [Ten Hag] is definitely intense, as you can see in the pre-season. Let’s say we do attack vs defence and the defence score, the attackers have to do five press-ups.”
“He is assuring us that some things are not allowed – especially in transition play. We are all taking that in and we are taking it in well.”
Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho was in good form in the preseason matches and he will look to continue the good show.
However, Erik Ten Hag’s stint with Manchester United got off to a poor start as they were beaten by Brighton and Hove Albion by 2-1 at Old Trafford in their season’s opener.
Manchester United have a lot of work to do and they will need to come up with collective efforts in the upcoming matches. Ergo, there is no doubt that Ten Hag will have his work cut out.
