Midfielder Harry Winks is excited by the capture of Tanguy Ndombele and is looking forward to playing alongside him in the Tottenham midfield.
Spurs finally dipped into the club’s coffers to bring the 22-year-old France international to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the north Londoners paying Lyon £58.8m for his services.
Mauricio Pochettino is looking to strengthen his squad as it was obvious last season that they lacked depth when their Premier League challenge fizzled out in the latter stages of the campaign.
It did not prevent the Lilywhites reaching the Champions League final with some inspired football along the way but a lacklustre display in Madrid saw them come up short against Liverpool.
Ndombele has become the club’s record signing and Winks admits a couple of team-mates have tried to fill him in on the new man’s qualities.
“We’ve heard a lot about him through Hugo Lloris and Moussa Sissoko, both have played with him at France. We’ve heard he’s a top player,” he told Talksport.
“From what we’ve heard and the clips we have seen of him he looks like a fantastic addition to the squad and we’re looking forward to welcoming him when we get back in.”
Pochettino had his eyes on the former Amiens ace for some time and has managed to snare his target, with other new faces expected to arrive before the window slams shut.
With Manchester City 1.70 favourites to make it a hat-trick of top-flight titles, the big clubs will all need to improve their squads and the addition of Ndombele sees Spurs priced at 15.00 for Premier League glory.
