Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are set to welcome their man Sebastien Haller after the forward arrived in Dortmund, Germany, for his medical fitness tests.
According to reports, the Black and Yellow side agreed to a record deal for the Ivory Coast international last week worth €31m with a further €4m in bonuses and performances, which will see him earn an annual salary of €8m.
After passing his medicals on Thursday and putting pen to paper for a four-year contract, Haller will be unveiled as a Dortmund player in the coming days.
Haller’s signing indicates Dortmund’s busy activities in the transfer window this summer as the 28-year-old is set to become the eighth arrival at the Signal Iduna.
He [Haller] will join the likes of Niklas Süle, Karim Adeyemi, Nico Schlotterbeck, Marcel Lotka, Jayden Braaf, Salih Özcan and Alexander Meyer to complete a what has been a good window for the club’s new Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl.
Dortmund can now relax knowing they’ve got a prolific forward similar to the departed Haaland, who joined Manchester City. They will look forward to him delivering the goals as he’s always done in his Ajax days.
The Ivorian enjoyed a successful season with Ajax winning the Eredivisie, scoring 34 goals in 42 appearances in all outings, which is massive for a prolific attacker such as Haller.
However, reports suggest agreements between Ajax and Dortmund have been made on Haller’s announcements not to be publicized officially until July.
Dortmund will now look to prepare for the coming season as new manager Erdin Terzic will now shape his squad and aim to take back the dominance of rivals Bayern Munich.
They will now look to resume preseason games by July as most of the first team members will arrive from the international break.
