According to recent rumors circulating the German media, Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has expressed his feelings about the absence of regular playing time on the pitch.
The former Ajax man who joined the Bundesliga Champions during the summer has had a few minutes under his belt as he seeks consistency in getting into the matchday squad.
The Netherlands international has the likes of Marcel Sabitzer, Joshua Kimmich, and Leon Goretzka to contend with in the middle of the park. Hence, his growing feelings of demanding more time at the club and international level.
Gravenberch disclosed in an exclusive interview after being asked how he felt not getting enough game time. The 20-year-old explained his plight by wishing to play regularly to impress the fans and manager.
“I feel dissatisfied with my lack of minutes week in and week out. Sometimes I get my hopes high of getting called by the manager, but I won’t get picked afterward.
“I believe my time will come, and I will continue to work hard in training for the manager to give me this chance, hopefully after the International break .” He said.
There’s no doubt about the abilities possessed by Gravenberch. He was regarded as a rising prospect at Ajax and has shown that several times on the big stage. The move to Bayern is definitely a big step in his career. However, he must know he must fight for his place to be guaranteed a starting spot on the Bavarian team.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side, however, has been poor in the domestic league after yet another disappointing display in the loss to Augsburg, which places them 5th on the Bundesliga log with twelve points.
