It is still early days in the Premier League but Arsenal have been playing at a different level under the tutelage of Mikel Arteta. Their new signings have worked out really well, especially forward Gabriel Jesus. He has set the league on fire with his scintillating gameplay which has helped Arsenal start with two dominating wins.
The fans and the experts have been speaking about the former Manchester City player and hardly a few people expected the Brazilian to be this prolific. Jesus scored two goals and came up with two assists as Arsenal defeated Leicester City 4-2 in their second gameweek fixture in the new Premier League season.
The other two goals were scored by Granit Xhaka and Gabriel Martinelli. The Swiss midfielder opened his account for the season from a Jesus assist and he was full of praises for the Brazilian. Xhaka shared how he is very happy for the Arsenal striker and feels it is very important to score and more important to score at home.
“Two goals, two assists, the work he does for the team is unbelievable and we’re more than happy. He’s scoring now as well, he’s helping us day-by-day and I’m more than happy for him because I think it’s very important to score at home,” Xhaka said after the 4-2 win over Leicester.
The Swiss international also shared how the atmosphere is more free this season and he is also getting that freedom on the pitch as he goes up and down and Arteta and others have that trust in someone as experienced as Xhaka. “I’ve got more freedom to go up and down. I know I can do that. I have a lot of freedom from the coach, from my teammates. At the moment I’m happy with how everything is going. Let’s continue to work like this and hopefully at the end of the season we can be more than happy,” the Swiss midfielder replied when asked about his role in this current Arsenal team.
Arsenal defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 in the opening day of the Premier League and then followed it with an even more dominant performance against Leicester City. The Gunners will look to continue their perfect start to the season as they will face Bournemouth next in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s men can really go out on a roll here as they will face their next three matches against Bournemouth, Fulham and Aston Villa and those are teams that the should beat if they want to finish in the top four this season. So a headstart is up on the cards for the North London outfit but whether they manages to secure it remains to be seen.
