    Serge Gnabry

Gnabry rules out summer exit from Bayern with potential new deal in discussion

    April 16, 2025

Vincent Kompany made an inspired change by bringing Serge Gnabry on against Borussia Dortmund, which eventually helped Bayern Munich to get back in the game.

Gnabry played a crucial role in the first goal and scored a brilliant second goal to help the Bavarians get the lead over arch-rivals Dortmund.

Unfortunately, the hosts couldn’t hold on to the lead and eventually shared points with their bitter rivals.

Gnabry has endured a disappointing campaign at Bayern until now. After suffering several injuries last season, he has been fit for the majority of the season, but Vincent Kompany has preferred other wingers over him.

The 29-year-old winger has started nine Bundesliga games this season and came off the bench in 13 games.

He has six goals and four assists to his name in 35 appearances for Bayern across all competitions. Gnabry’s output in the final third has drastically decreased, which has put him behind other wingers at Bayern.

Despite Gnabry’s current situation in Munich, Sky Sport has reported that the German winger has no plans to look for a transfer in the summer.

The winger’s management is not actively talking to other clubs as he remains keen on fulfilling his contract that expires in 2026.

Newcastle United had shown interest in Serge Gnabry last summer, but he made it quite clear at the start of the transfer window that he is not ready to give up on his time at Bayern.

The former Arsenal winger has managed to get 1678 minutes of game time this season.

He may struggle to get similar game time next season since Bayern have big plans for strengthening the attack in the summer.

The Bavarian club is expected to make a play for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz. They also have a concrete interest in Marseille winger Luis Henrique.

Reports revealed talks have already begun with the Brazilian to explore a potential summer transfer.

Meanwhile, Leroy Sane is in line to get a new contract. Apart from these three players, Gnabry also has to compete with Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala for a place in the attack.

Bayern remain open to parting ways with Gnabry in the summer, provided an interested club meets their valuation.

The German winger is one of the top earners in the squad, so it makes sense for Die Roten to listen to offers for him in the summer.

Gnabry seems to have made up his mind about the future in Munich, but further transfer developments in the summer may force him to rethink his decision.
