Celta Vigo compounded their poor start to the La Liga by Getafe when they defeated them 3-0 on Monday night.
Getafe were optimistic of a positive result on Monday evening after getting their first two points of the season in their last two games where they held Real Sociedad and Levante to 1-1 and 0-0 draws respectively.
The Azulones held their own for the first forty-five minutes but conceded ten minutes after the break when Santi Mina headed in his first goal on the night.
Three minutes later, the visitors through Iago Aspas doubled their advantage before Togolese defender Djene got red carded in the 63rd minute.
Ten minutes later Santi Mina got his brace and final goal of the game as Celta Vigo enjoyed a win that takes them tp 14th, 4 points clear of the drop zone.
Getafe remain rooted to the bottom of the table with 2 points from games played so far this season.
Granada, Espanyol and Villarreal are Getafe’s next three opponents while Celta Vigo will face Real Sociedad, Rayo Vallecano and Barcelona.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday in the La Liga, Alaves will play against Elche, Alaves will hope to continue from where they stopped at the weekend when they defeated Cadiz 2-0.
Elche will hope for a better result than the 2-2 draw they recorded against Espanyol.
Villarreal will host Cadiz and will be looking to bounce back from the 2-1 loss to Bilbao against Cadiz who are winless in their last 5 matches.
Espanyol will host Atletico Bilbao and they can leapfrog their Tuesday opponents if they can get a victory on the night.
Espanyol are in 11 with 13 points from 10 games while Bilbao sits in 8 position with 16 points from nine games played so far this season.
