Fulham F.C. are quite known for developing young talents. They have, over the years got eyes for young and exciting talents, the most recent of which is Jose Antonio Gomez Marquez. The 15-year-old is most known by the name Joselito.
Joselito has broken through the ranks and into the first team of third division side Coria CF. Indeed, the 15-year-old has started in both of the club’s games this term.
That breakthrough has caught the eyes of several clubs across Europe. Interestingly, Mundo Deportivo has credited Fulham with interest in the young lad.
According to the news outlet, the youngster already has a firm offer from the Cottagers who want him at the club. It is reported that the Championship side has made provision for he and family to travel over to come to see the club’s facilities.
As at the time of filing this report, Fulham are said to have already completed all the necessary paperwork to make it happen.
If the Cottagers want to see the youngster at the Craven Cottage though, they would have to see off competition from Spanish giants FC Barcelona who are also reportedly interested in his signature. The Blaugranas are thought to be interested in Joselito and consequently sent a scout to watch him play for his club side on Sunday.
Not only would they have to make the teenager choose a move to Craven Cottage over one to Camp Nou, they would also have to convince the young lad to leave Sevilla.
Joselito had earlier admitted to being happy at Sevilla and stated his interest in remaining there for another year.
Joselito had been promised National Youth League football this campaign. However, in a twist of events, he is instead playing in the Third Division where he is doing exceptionally well.
It is suggested that the teenager would prefer playing for Coria than playing in the youth ranks of either Fulham or Barcelona.
That said, the youngster might be tempted to fancy his chances considering the case of Ansu Fati who is now Barcelona’s youngest ever goalscorer having found the net earlier this month.
Fulham FC are backed at 1.40 to finish as the top London club in the Championship.
