Former Manchester United legend Andy Cole urges the club to sign Jude Bellingham over Declan Rice

Manchester United urgently need a midfielder to solve their issues in the middle of the park. Therefore West Ham United man Declan Rice is rumoured to be the top target for the Red Devils. However, Manchester United legend Andy Cole urges the club to sign Jude Bellingham as he feels that the youngster is a better fix than Rice.

A lot of clubs are interested in securing the services of Declan Rice which also includes Manchester United.

However the 23-year-old will not come cheap. West Ham United boss David Moyes has clearly stated that the midfielder is not for sale as the Hammers slap a £150 million price tag on him.

Former Manchester United legend Andy Cole recently shared his views on Sky Sports regarding United’s reported interest in the England international to solve their midfielder woes.  There he suggested ow Jude Bellingham will be a better option to spend so much money on. Cole even shred how the youngster’s abilities are absolutely frightening.

“£150m for a holding midfield player? That’s a lot of money. Not sure how many goals he’s going to get you from that position,” Andy Cole stated.

“We were just talking, if the opportunity comes about when Rice is available in the summer and you had Bellingham come available, who would you spend your £150m on?”

Cole added how bringing in Bellingham will be more beneficial as he is more versatile and can even get into positions from where he can score goals for the Red Devils. “Personally, I would go with Bellingham, he’s 18 years of age and he goes that way, that way [points up and down], he creates chances, he scores goals. For such a young man, his ability is absolutely frightening. Bellingham has something extra, just energy,” said Cole.

Both the midfielders have been in exceptional form for their respective clubs. Declan Rice has had a calming presence in the middle of the park for West Ham United guiding them to the quarterfinals of the Europa League beating record champions Sevilla. David Moyes’ men are also sixth in the Premier League and Rice has been a vital cog in that set up.

While Jude Bellingham has also been excellent for Dortmund this season. He has scored three goals and seven assists and has been one of the best players for the Black and Yellows.

It will be exciting to see which way Manchester United will go in this summer window. They are ready to splash a hefty amount on either of the two midfielders as they look out to resolve issues in the middle.
