Folarin Balogun is enjoying a great moment in his career; at just 21 years old, he is currently the fourth-highest scorer in the French top flight with 19 goals in 31 appearances.
The Gunners are pleased with the outstanding performance of the young striker, but are not yet ready to give him a regular spot in the first team, as sources close to the club say they would be interested in sending him out on loan next season.
Balogun is not happy with this situation and has requested a meeting during the summer to discuss his future at Arsenal. He would look for a new club if an agreement is not reached that guarantees him a good number of minutes on the ptich.
Clubs like Brentford, Wolves, Everton, Leicester, and Crystal Palace are rumored to be very interested in the youngster’s services.
A few days ago, Balogun was asked what he thought of his future at Arsenal, to which the player replied that his focus at this time is on finishing the season with Reims in the best possible way.
“I haven’t thought that far if I’m honest. What I’ve been able to do so far, I’m sure it’s making a lot of noise – not just at Arsenal but everywhere.
“It’s just about continuing that, staying focused and helping the team.”
Arteta has managed to create a good line of attack with versatile players who can play on the outside of the box and wide on the left and right sides, like Martinelli and Trossard. Only Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are box strikers, a position similar to the one Balogun plays, so it remains to be seen if the youngster fits into the Gunners’ style of play.
