Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has stated that he will lose his integrity if he wants to return to managerial duty, especially with the English job. The German manager left Liverpool at the end of last season after initially announcing it in January. 

On his exit, he claimed he wouldn’t return to England to manage any other Premier League team and at the International Coaches’ Congress in Wurzburg, Germany, Jurgen Klopp revealed the offers on the table for him but says he’ll rather save his face than take a job in England or the national team job for that matter.

England lost in the Euro 2024 final to Spain in Germany and Gareth Southgate left the position despite having a contract with the English FA till December. However, several names have been linked to the vacant English national team job, including Jurgen Klopp but the former Borussia Dortmund manager has stated that he’s not going back on his decision.

“At the moment, there is nothing at all in terms of jobs. No club, no country. England? That would be the biggest loss of face in the history of football if I said I’ll make an exception for you. Let’s see what it will look like in a few months. Nothing is coming through at the moment. As of today, that’s it for me as a coach. I didn’t quit on a whim, it was a general decision.” he said.

However, he insisted that while he was coached by the best clubs in the world, he could talk about it again in a few months as he still wanted to work in football and help people with his experience and contacts.

Liverpool hired former Feyenoord manager Arne Slot to take charge of Liverpool ahead of the 2024/2025 season and the Reds will start the season with a game against Ipswich away in the season opener.
