Manchester City’s striker Erling Haaland keeps producing goals. The lanky forward scored a hat-trick against Burnley as City thumped the opposition by 6-0 in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
The Norwegian scored in the 33rd, 35th, and 59th to complete his hat trick. Moreover, Julian Alvarez scored a brace and Cole Palmer also found the back of the net for Manchester City.
Earlier in the week, Haaland had scored five times in the 7-0 Champions League win against RB Leipzig in the second leg of a round-of-16 match.
The Sky Blues manager Pep Guardiola feels Haaland will have a problem in meeting the lofty expectations, that he is setting for himself, in the future.
“This guy will have a problem in the future, people will expect him to score three or four goals in each game and this isn’t going to happen,” the City coach said at a press conference.
“I know him, he doesn’t care, he’s so positive in his life so optimistic, never complain, always looks out for himself It was incredible he scored nine goals, he’s an incredible threat, a power, his joy of life is always positive, optimistic, that helps.”
Haaland has been in prolific form as he has scored 42 goals in all competitions in just 37 appearances for the reigning Premier League champions.
On the other hand, former England International and Newcastle United forward Alan Shearer also showered praise on Erling Haaland for his consistent performances.
“He might get 50 goals, maybe even 60. It’s bonkers,” Premier League record goalscorer Alan Shearer said in the BBC’s Match of the Day Live studio.
“Haaland is a beast. He is a goal-scoring machine. He lives and breathes goals.”
Norway International was also delighted with his performances and he would want to carry the same in the upcoming matches.
“It’s been a good couple of last games,” an understated Haaland, who scored his first goals in the FA Cup, told BBC Sport. “7-0 and 6-0 before the international break is impressive and I’m really happy.
“Every goal means a lot to me and every goal for the team means a lot.”
