Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has stated that the team has enough quality players to get wins as he prepares to face Leeds United without some of his key players.
The Red Devils will be without midfielder Casemiro who was red-carded in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend.
The Brazilian was handed a three-match ban which starts with Leeds United’s visit to Old Trafford on Wednesday, as Manchester United has said that they would not appeal the red card.
Asides from Casemiro, Manchester United will be without Christian Eriksen and Scott Mctominay, who are both out due to injury. Erik Ten Hag stated that rather than dwell on the missing players would rather focus on those who are available and go on with the game.
“I always have to play with the players who are available, and we have a squad; we have many good players in our squad who are also not playing in the starting XI, and I have to do it. After a game, I can’t say, ‘Casemiro is not there, Anthony Martial is not there,’ we have to win. United are capable, and we have to win the games no matter who is on the pitch.” Ten Hag said.
Meanwhile, Leeds United sacked their former manager Jesse Marsch on Monday after a poor run of form that has seen them winless in seven Premier League games, with their last win coming in November 2022.
They are one spot and one point away from the relegation zone as they have 18 points from 20 games, with Everton, Bournemouth, and Southampton in the eighteen to twentieth positions.
While Manchester United beat Crystal Palace 2-1 thanks to Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford’s goals, Leeds United lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest at City Ground.
