The Spanish La Liga has released its schedule and fixture list for the 2024/2025 season on Tuesday as title winners Real Madrid face Mallorca away from home while Barcelona travels to Valencia.

Atletico Madrid travels to face Villarreal, while Real Valladolid will face the winner of the Segunda Division playoff tie between Espanyol and Oviedo.

The two teams are locked on a 1-0 aggregate lead for Oviedo from the first leg, while the second leg will be this weekend as Espanyol hopes to turn the tie on the head in front of their own fans.

With nineteen of the twenty expected teams already known, the 2024-25 La Liga season will start in August on the weekend of August 18. The final slot will be filled with either Real Oviedo or Espanyol, with one of them set to seal the final spot in next season’s competition this weekend.

Many La Liga fans would pay attention to the new Barcelona manager Hansi Flick, whose journey at Camp Now starts with a trip to the Mestalla stadium.

Atletico Madrid will be at Estadio La Ceramica to face Villarreal, while defending champions Real Madrid will start their title defense at Mallorca.

Meanwhile, the first El Clasico dates were also revealed on Tuesday, with the first El Clasico of the season happening at Santiago Bernabeu on matchday 11 as Barcelona will be on the road to tackle Real Madrid on MD11.

Although the date for the return leg may change due to broadcast rights and other competition, it will most likely be the first Clasico at the newly-renovated Spotify Camp Nou, as it will happen on MD35 in May and will also likely be the title decider.
