Rangers’ George Edmundson thinks it is too early in the season for anyone to stick out his neck for Celtic F.C. The Rangers man wasn’t involved in the eventful derby between his side and the Hoops who outran them by a 2-0 score line.
However, George suggests it is impossible for Celtic not to slip-up sometime in the season.
The defender joined Rangers in the summer transfer window for a fee estimated at £700,000. The center-back, while watching the game, admitted he had made a big move.
George Edmundson is adamant that there are a lot of positives to take from the game in spite of his side’s loss.
As far as the English man is concerned, there were a lot of lessons for him and his teammates to pick from the game. The 22-year-old insists the lessons learned will only help his side bounce back stronger and in the right shape to mount a serious challenge on the rampaging Celtic this campaign.
Though he admits that Celtic are a really strong side, he thinks they are not infallible. The center-back thinks the Hoops can’t keep up with their form through the season.
“It’s still early days in the season, and I’m sure Celtic will slip up at some point,” he said
He thinks his side might have entertained a little hiccup and fallen behind in the title race. He, however, thinks Neil Lennon’s men would still experience a lot of ups and downs, giving Rangers the opportunity to lead them on the Scottish League standings.
Speaking for the team, he admitted the team didn’t play their very best but insists there’s still a long way to go for both sides with a lot of highs and lows.
He said his teammates aren’t the least oblivious of their mistakes. He said that the team had picked up their pieces from the derby defeat, learned their lessons, and are ready to take on new challenges.
The youngster attested to the fact that he was playing for a big club with a huge fan base ready to tear away in jubilation when they win.
Celtic FC are fancied at 1.30 to win the Scottish Premiership, while eternal rivals Rangers FC are 3.25 to win it.
