Felix Nmecha spoke about his delight as he capped off what was an incredible week for him by scoring for Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
It is fair to say that Felix Nmecha is in the form of his life at the moment and is finally coming into his own in a Borussia Dortmund shirt.
The midfielder has been in excellent form of late and continued that run by scoring in back-to-back matches this week.
Nmecha was rewarded for his form Julian Nagelsmann earlier this month as he was called up to the Germany squad for the first time in 12 months.
And he made the most of his first-ever start for Germany this week by scoring in their 1-1 draw against Hungary.
The 24-year-old followed that up by finding the back of the net again in Borussia Dortmund’s 4-0 win over SC Freiburg on Saturday with a fine finish into the corner from outside the box.
The goal proved to be crucial as it gave BVB a 2-0 lead going into the halftime break.
Speaking about his form after the game, the German international revealed he is determined to continue to get better and better.
“It was a very, very nice week for me. You have to say that. I hope it continues like this and that I continue to develop.
As a player in that position, I can not afford to make many mistakes because I’m on my own there. But I love it because I always get the ball in that position.”
After a difficult first season at Borussia Dortmund, Felix Nmecha is certainly producing the performances those in charge at the club had hoped to see from him when they signed him from Wolfsburg.
If he can manage to continue this run, BVB’s midfield struggles might finally be a thing of the past.
