Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have denied interest in bringing Liverpool star midfielder Naby Keita to the club.
Earlier reports from the media in England on Wednesday morning claimed the Black and Yellow side are keen on bringing the Guniea international to Germany.
Dortmund has now renounced such claims describing it as “false” news. Currently, Edin Terzic’s side boasts enough first-team personnel in the middle of the park with the likes of [Jude] Bellingham, [Mahmoud] Dahoud, [Salih] Özcan, and the ever reliable [Abdoulaye] Kamara. It would be a surplus to requirement situation if they attempted to sign the former RB Leipzig man.
Keita has just a year left on his current deal, with reports insisting he might exit Anfield this season. He is currently out with an injury and has so far amassed 117 appearances.
Speaking in an exclusive interview, Dortmund sporting Director Sebastian Kehl was quizzed as to if there will be any incoming this summer, he revealed there wouldn’t be any arrivals putting an end to links with Keita.
“We are satisfied with the current shape of our squad, and we hope to compete at all fronts this season. There won’t be any more players coming into the club”. He added.
It has been a bumpy ride for Dortmund so far this season. They lost shockingly after going 2-0 up against Werder Bremen as they ended up losing 3-2.
Dortmund will look to bounce back to winning ways as they make the trip down to Hertha Berlin this weekend.
They will also hope to get a healthy squad with most of their first teamers making a return from injury.
