Former Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger has urged the Gunners to not let this golden chance of winning the Premier League get pass them. Arsenal are currently at the top of the points table with 54 points in 23 matches, followed closely by Manchester City, who have 52 points but they have played one more game than the table-toppers.
Mikel Arteta’s team has been right on the money as they are coming up with collective efforts. The likes of Bukayo Saka, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Gabriel Martinelli have done an amazing job for the team.
Arsenal defeated Aston Villa by 4-2 to strengthen their lead last weekend whereas Manchester City played a 1-1 draw against Nottm Forest.
Speaking to beIN Sports, Arsene Wenger, who led Arsenal to three Premier League titles, said, “It was a good feeling to see what is now a happy crowd, the team feels good. I like what I saw and I like what I felt in the dressing room. The spirit of the team is great, the humility, the hunger of the young players is incredible. They are hungry said the former manager, who recently visited the Emirates to watch an Arsenal game for the first time since his departure.
Wenger feels Manchester City have not been good in their defense.
He continued, “The usual threats in the Premier League are out of the race. The only threat is Manchester City, and even they aren’t as dominant as last year, or the two years prior. Since the start of the season, City are more vulnerable defensively, which hasn’t been the case in recent years. I feel as though you win it when you can and when you’re not worrying about the rest; you let others talk and you take the title.”
On Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League title, Wenger concluded, “[Their chances] won’t be more favorable than they are today, so don’t let this chance pass us by. Arsenal has 51 points, which is remarkable after 22 matches.”
