The latest information has emerged from France that Darko Lazović could complete a move to Olympique Marseille soon.
It was gathered that there has been an agreement between the Ligue 1 club and the player. The remaining part is the negotiation of the transfer fee and possible add-ons with the Serie A club.
The 31-year-old Hellas Verona midfielder Darko Lazović is well known to new Marseille manager Igor Tudor, who was in charge of Verona last season. Lazovic was a mainstay in the Hellas Verona side last season, where he made 34 Serie A appearances, scoring once and registering seven assists.
Top Spanish journalist and columnist, Fabrizio Romano revealed that negotiations are at “the final stage” and are set to be completed this week.
Lazović, who has had stints with Red Star Belgrade and Genoa, is a utility player who could play at the left or right side of the midfield.
Since personal terms have been sorted, once terms between the clubs are agreed upon, his move should be quickly completed.
This means he could become Marseille’s eighth arrival of the summer. The club which will be featuring in the Champions League wants to add depth to their squad ahead of a packed calendar.
Meanwhile, it appears, that Marseille are not done in the transfer market as they are also eyeing Arsenal’s, Nuno Tavares.
However, the latest report from L’Équipe said the defender seems to be unsure about the prospect of moving to Marseille.
Although the Portuguese left-back had been identified as the club’s priority signing in the position, anything could change at any time.
Marseille were preparing to sign the 22-year-old last week on loan with an option to buy an offer, but Arsenal preferred to delay proceedings and take the former Benfica man on their preseason tour of the USA.
This could be due to Kieran Tierney’s injury as the Scottish recovers.
Since they want to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City, they might let go of Tavares once the deal is completed.
The latest situation has made the Ligue 1 club be looking at an alternative.
