Bournemouth are closing in on signing Dango Ouattara for £20M from French side Lorient after agreeing on a deal on Wednesday with the player traveling to England for a medical 24 hours later.
Dango Ouattara is a 20-year-old Burkinabe striker who has had a good start to the season in the Ligue 1, where he has scored six goals in 18 matches.
The Cherries have beaten their Premier League rivals and relegation strugglers West Ham United, Southampton, and Everton, who were all interested in the player.
Manager Gary O’Neal still intends to bring in full more players to the vitality Stadium as they continue to fight against the drop into the championship.
The club is also said to be interested in Villarreal’s striker Arnaut Danjuma who they have rated around £20M. Danjuma was on the books of the club before leaving for Spain in 2021.
He’s scored just two La Liga goals in ten La Liga games for the Yellow Submarines this season.
Since taking over the club permanently, Gavin O’Neill has managed to improve the standings of the Cherries on the table as they sit one point above the relegation waters in 17th place.
Bournemouth are on a six-match winless run in all competitions, having lost all games played since the return from the FIFA World Cup. The team will face Nottingham Forest at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
In other Premier League games for the weekend, Liverpool will host Chelsea at Anfield on Saturday while Leicester City will play Brighton, and Southampton will welcome Aston Villa to the Saint Mary’s Stadium.
West Ham will face Everton, and Crystal Palace will hope to secure a win against Everton in Saturday’s final game. The big fixture will be Arsenal playing Manchester United on Sunday, while Wolves will be on the road to Manchester City.
